Miami Elementary School Teacher Accused of Trying to Kiss Girls and Showing Nude Photos of Himself

An elementary school teacher in Florida was arrested after being accused of trying to kiss girls in the third and fourth grades, as well as showing them nude photos of himself.

Cesar Oriol Cardoso was taken into custody on Friday, September 11, and charged with offenses against students by authority figures, showing obscene material to a minor and lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under 16, according to a complaint viewed by People.

Cardoso, 53, is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond, according to online jail records viewed by Us.

The former teacher was arrested following incidents that took place during the 2024-2025 school year while he worked at Sunset Park Elementary School in Miami-Dade County. Several allegations have been made against him, including that he asked young female students to come to his classroom during lunch or gym classes so that they could catch up on schoolwork.

One student claimed to detectives that Cardoso had called her to his desk and shown her inappropriate pictures and videos, according to the report. She alleged that he showed her a picture of himself naked as he posed in a mirror with his genitals exposed.

She also claimed he showed her a pornographic video that featured a boy between the ages of 12 to 14 and an adult woman.

The student went on to tell detectives that Cardoso had “slapped” her and another victim on “the buttocks and in a playful tone told them that if they continued misbehaving, he would hit them on the butt.”

Authorities said that Cardoso’s alleged behavior continued into the 2025-2026 school year.

One of the alleged victims said that Cardoso excused her and another girl from gym class on April 24 and brought them back to his classroom. He then allegedly told one of the girls that she was “beautiful” and tried to grab her arm.

The other girl claimed Cardoso would tell her she was beautiful and stroke her hair on occasion. She claimed she told him to stop, but he continued the behavior with the other victims.

A fifth victim told police that Cardoso told her he wanted to kiss her, but she turned her head when he leaned in toward her.

Following his arrest, Miami-Dade County Public Schools released a statement on Monday, September 14, saying it was “deeply troubled by the disturbing allegations against this individual.”

“School administration acted swiftly upon learning of these allegations in April 2026 and removed the teacher from the school setting on the next business day. Miami-Dade Schools Police subsequently launched a formal investigation. The individual separated from M-DCPS in May 2026 and was arrested on September 11, 2026,” the statement read, according to NBC 6.

The school went on to say that Cardoso’s behavior would not be “tolerated under any circumstances.”

“Although he is no longer employed by M-DCPS, he is permanently precluded from seeking or obtaining future employment with the District,” the school added.

It’s not currently clear whether Cardoso has entered a plea or retained legal counsel following his arrest.
