Toronto Film Festival Unveils First 2026 Lineups

The 51st Toronto Film Festival on Monday revealed 64 titles across its Gala and Special Presentations sections, which include 32 premieres from such filmmakers as Anton Corbijn (A Talent for Murder), Shakespeare in Love's John Madden (Onwards and Sideways), Chris Rock (Misty Green), as well as the return of two-time Oscar winner Peter Farrelly with the anticipated Amazon MGM Studios Sylvester Stallone biopic I Play Rocky (opening in theaters November 6).
It was here at TIFF where Farrelly lit the wick on 2018's Green Book, which after winning the festival's Oscar bellwether People's Choice Award went on to win three Oscars including Best Picture. blogherads.adq.push(function () { blogherads .defineSlot( 'medrec', 'gpt-dsk-tab-mid-article1-uid0' ) .setTargeting( 'pos', ["mid-article1","mid","mid-articleX","mid-article","300x251"] ) .setTargeting( 'viewable', 'yes' ) .setSubAdUnitPath("ros\/mid-article") .addSize([[2,2],[300,250],[620,350],[300,251],[501,282],[3,3],[2,4],[4,2],[620,366]]) .exemptFromSleep() .setClsOptimization("minsize") ; });
